This delectable concoction, my dear readers, is my newest most favorite snack! While I like my instant noodles just as much as any other Asian person does, it's not something that I crave everyday. However my hubby recently introduced me to a plate of the fabulous Indomie Instant Noodle and I have fallen quickly and deliciously into deep food love! I think I just about swallowed that first plateful of Indomie in one breath, it was so yummilicious!!
Hear me, oh noodle lovers, this is the perfect noodle snack you've been waiting for! I had to make sure to spread the faith though it's probably not necessary as Indomie is already getting quite a cult following amongst the noodle lovers. But just in case you missed it, here is Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Noodles, the most perfectly flavored sauce tossed instant noodle, in its classic preparation! (Pssst...it's just the thing to stock up on these days when we're cooking and eating at home so much.)
Indomie comes in many packaged flavors, some with soup and some without. It's really inexpensive as well. You could try the other flavors, but, for my money, look for this particular package, the Indomie Mi Goreng, a soupless noodle tossed with special sauce, this is THE ONE! (...lip smacking sounds...)
Psst...there is also a hot and spicy version of this noodle which we haven't tried yet but I'll bet it's pretty good!
Inside the package are one block of instant dried noodles, and two sets of flavor packs, one with powdered flavoring and the other with oils and sauce. The powdered flavoring consists of salt, sugar, chicken flavour powder, garlic powder and pepper powder. The sauce package consists of sweet soy sauce, chili sauce and onion infused oil.
These two flavor packets are the secret to this very, very delicious instant noodle. It's just a perfectly balanced taste sensation. Check online to see how many efforts have been made to discover the secret to this sauce!
It's so easy to make! Cook the noodles for 3 minutes or until al dente. Drain out the water completely, then add in the dry flavor packets and stir, stir, stir. Add in the wet flavor packets and stir, stir, stir.
In the meantime, break an egg and cook it sunny side up. Golden delicious! This egg is a must for this noodle dish, it provides just the right amount of contrast to the noodles.
Scoop those perfectly flavored lip smackingly delicious noodles out into bowl and then place your golden fried egg on top. Your Indomie Mi Goreng noodles are done and ready to gobble down! But beware, all you noodle lovers, this pretty little noodle is addictive!!!

Yummers! I can't agree more! This is one of my secret pleasure, I used to eat it at least once every week after dropping off my kid in school! Thanks for the reminder, this will definitely be featured in next week's menu!
ReplyDeleteHi Dino and Family - That's exactly the right words to describe this, a "secret pleasure" indeed!!😜
DeleteThe spicy one tastes best. I've tried recreating the spice mix but the diy version just doesn't taste the same.
ReplyDeleteOh, I've got to try the spicy one then! Really looking forward!
DeleteDo they sell any if those scrumptious sauces by the bottle. I love it so mych especially the red one. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI don't think they sell it by the bottle even though they totally should! However I've seen lots of folk online that have made their own attempt to recreate the indomie sauce at home. Maybe you can try one of those. If it works out let me know! ~ellen
DeleteI am Indonesian but my preference is Indomie Goreng Chicken Barbecue flavor (the package is blue). Taste is subjective but I think it's more delicious than the original Mie Goreng flavor. Moreover, LA Times crowned it as the most delicious noodle in 2019. The price is a bit higher because the noodle looks like premium. Hope you give it a try and would love to know your opinion.
ReplyDeleteHi Andre - Thanks for the heads up, we're definitely going to try to find that flavor and check it out! Will report back if we find it. ~ellen
DeleteBack to report...we've tried the Andre's recommended Chicken Barbecue flavor and we gotta say it's delicious but for us the original Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Stir Fry Noodles still is our favorite by a tiny bit! ~ellen
DeleteHaha. We have been all over this for years in Australia! Lived off this as a poor uni student in late 2000s.
ReplyDeleteStill love it now even though I can afford other food!
And to think that we've just discovered it! Where the heck have we been... But that's okay, always loving to discover new and old favorites. ~ellen
ReplyDeleteHere I was thinking I invented this. Very curious what the exact seasonings are. I want to make my own knockoff version
ReplyDeleteLotsa recipes for replicating indomie delicious seasonings online, check em out and let me know if you find a good one!
ReplyDeleteWhy get rid of the seasoning. 275 million people prpbably aren't wrong
ReplyDeleteSome folks want to recreate the seasoning, not get rid of it. Probably so as to add the delicious seasoning to other dishes!
